When you walk through the door of a ‘From Around Here’ store you will find yourself on a journey that will inspire and surprise you. A collection of unique and eclectic products handmade from within the region or locally designed and ethically made abroad, but all made with love.

 

Handmade living from our region with a story behind each item, whether it be about the maker, the technique or the region - every item has a story to tell.

 

With an ever growing collection of over 150 different makers, artisans & designers you are bound to find something you will love or you didn’t know you were looking for. Each store is designed to give you a real taste of the region all in one place.

 

Owners Mandy (Founder - From Around Here in Aireys Inlet) and Nicki (From Around Here Torquay)  have been friends for many years and have come from diverse professional backgrounds, but both are passionate about people, our communities and a love of discovering beautiful things which are at the heart of the ‘From Around Here’ stores.

 

‘We both wanted to create something custom made for our region that supports our local makers, especially women in small business. Providing a home for creators to showcase their products. A place where you can buy something unique, inspirational & local that becomes something special to you or to the person you share it with’.

We believe: We do not inherit this world from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children. So where possible we like our products to have no nasties, no toxins, and are safe for the planet and our children’s planet.

We our love our community, and thrive on being a part of it. We support local communities by being actively involved and where possible contribute to local charity fundraising.

“Curiosity is the spark behind every great idea. The future belongs to the curious.” (Someone clever said that :-) We love to seek out and research and find new makers and new ways of making beautiful useful things. We have also learnt to question things in order to keep ourselves and others honest, ensuring we know and understand what we sell.

From Around Here is a passion for us, it keeps us motivated to consistently seek and deliver beautiful products and personalised customer service. It is why we love working with, sharing in and celebrating our makers and their own unique passions and stories.
