Made on the potter's wheel and then carved with many tiny carvings to give a texture reminiscent of the cliffs and rock faces of the Surf Coast. The carving produces an organic shape that is interesting and draws the eye and the hand.  A pedestal base has been added to this platter to elevate it and create layers when serving desserts or holding fruit. It is then glazed in a handmade white satin matte glaze that has a beautiful buttery texture before being fired for a final time.

As this is handmade sizing may vary and slight irregularities in size, shape or glaze may be present. Every item is unique and small imperfections such as glaze drips, spots or superficial cracks may be present. These do not impact function and highlight the unique beauty of every handcrafted item.
